The Salvation Army in Kawartha Lakes Launches its 2020 Christmas Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army is set to begin its annual Christmas Kettle campaign throughout Lindsay, Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon and Coboconk.
Even during a pandemic, The Salvation Army marches on in support of those struggling with food insecurity, loneliness, and other practical realities that most of us take for granted. “We listen to people and work to care for their needs,” says Lt. Susan Roffel, Community Ministries Director in Lindsay. She and her husband, Lt. Bob Roffel, are both pastors and arrived in Lindsay this summer to take over leadership of The Salvation Army’s work in Lindsay.
“We are excited to be serving in Lindsay,” says Roffel. We could not have asked for a better place to be. We have heard of the kindness of people here, and have already experienced it in the few short months we have been here.”
The Kettle goal in Lindsay is $65,000. The Fenelon Falls campaign, which includes Bobcaygeon and Coboconk expects to raise $41,000. Pastors Jeff Robertson and Miya Bradburn Robertson, leaders of the Army’s work in Fenelon Falls, are ready for this year’s campaign. “It’s going to be different this year, with masks being worn, regularly sanitizing kettles, and being outdoors in more locations,” says Pastor Jeff Robertson. “But these communities continue to show their strength, and I am confident that again this year, the Kettles will boil over, allowing our work with the vulnerable continue throughout 2021.”

Kettles are out until Christmas Eve.
