Positions (2): Tourism Ambassador - Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce Office/Tourist Information Centre
Duration: Late June to end of August 2022 - 8 weeks
Wages: $15.50/hour Hours per week: 35
Responsibilities:
Welcome visitors to the community and answer questions about local events, amenities, businesses, recreation to promote a positive experience while in Fenelon Falls.
Ambassadors will be work out of the Tourism Office and the pop up Tourism Office, as well as walking along the locks, beach, and downtown areas to engage with visitors.
Help maintain a clean and welcoming downtown and beach area.
Promote Fenelon Falls, local events, the Chamber etc. on social media.
Collect data for the KL Business Count Survey.
Write articles for the Town Crier online newsletter.
Engage with Chamber members and local business owners.
Cover for the Chamber Office staff if required.
Requirements:
Outgoing personality and willingness to engage with visitors.
Strong communication skills.
Friendly and professional in person communication skills.
Knowledge of local area, amenities, businesses, and history considered an asset.
Working knowledge of various social media platforms.
Available to work weekends.

Eligibility requirements:
Students must be currently enrolled in a secondary, or post-secondary institution or within six months of graduation and have reached the age of 15 and not yet reached the age of 25 upon commencement of employment or up to 29 years of age for persons with a disability, within the meaning of s.10 of the Ontario Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended from time to time.
Proof of student enrolment must be provided to the employer.
Students must be residents of Ontario during the period of employment.
Students must be eligible to work in Canada and have a Social Insurance Number (SIN).
Students should be living in Ontario at the time they start work.
