Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea

The Fenelon Falls Curling Club hosted a Platinum Jubilee Tea on Sunday, June 5th.  Members and their guests enjoyed wonderful tea trays with an assortment of tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, home made Battenburg cakes, shortbread cookies and British tea.  There was a memorabilia table with items from the Queen’s Coronation and the 70 years of her reign.  To add the festive spirit there was a prize for the most creative fascinator, and a raffle was held for prizes containing British sweets and treats.

The Fenelon Falls Curling Club hosts Euchre Nights on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m., and Bocce Ball nights will commence starting Thursday, June 14th.  For more information on the activities of the Curling Club please contact us at info@curlfenelon.ca.  We would love you to join us!

Even though curling has finished for the season, the fun continued at the curling club!

The club hosted a “Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea” fundraiser on Sunday, June 5th at 1:00 pm. It was a lovely event, attended by well dressed guests, their hair - dos adorned with fascinators.

It was quite indulgent! A delicious tray of tea sandwiches, home baked delicacies, traditional British scones with fresh clotted cream and jam, and beverages, including, of course, tea with lemon and also Prosecco was served at the bar. There was memorabilia on display from the Coronation, and from throughout the Queen’s 70 year reign. To add to the fun, there was a prize for the best fascinator, won by one of the hardworking ladies in the kitchen and 3 delighted guests won door prizes.

Thanks to Debbie Guiry and Gail Allman and all the other hard working members of the curling club for a delightful afternoon!
