Garden Tour Welcomes Visitors to Fenelon Falls on Saturday

The Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society is ready to show off the town to visitors this Saturday as we celebrate the Year of the Garden – ‘Live the Garden Life’ with a Tour of Fenelon Falls Public Gardens.  For over 100 years volunteers from the Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society have worked to maintain the public gardens within the village.  Starting with 4 flower beds in the cemetery, the society quickly moved to planting flowers throughout the village.  Today our volunteers care for over 20 gardens within Fenelon Falls.

The Garden Tour on Saturday isn’t just about Gardens however.  The Colborne Street Gallery is presenting a Year of the Garden Exhibition through August 28, 2022.  Maryboro Lodge Museum has garden focused Children’s programs starting at 11 am and a Bouquet of Flowers concert by Catherin Carew at 2 pm.  You can also visit Vendors at the museum, featuring glass art, candles and red wigglers!  Horticultural Society Volunteers will be located at various gardens to answer your questions about the plants and gardens of Fenelon.

Merchants are also participating in the celebration with a sidewalk sale of garden related items.  When you get hungry, On The Locks and The Locker are both offering garden themed luncheon specials on Saturday or you might choose to drop into Country Cupboard for a frozen yoghurt cone, or the Fenelon Falls Brewing Company for a refreshing beverage.  You can enjoy music by the Fenelon Block Buskers on Colborne Street throughout the day and Dig the Moon performs at the Chamber of Commerce office between noon and 2 pm.

Pick up a Garden Tour Guide at the Art Gallery or the Chamber of Commerce to receive a list of participants and programs, information about special offers and a ticket giving you the chance to win one of our Live the Garden Life Door Prizes.

So, join the celebration and come to the Fenelon Fall Horticultural Society Garden Tour on Saturday, July 16, from 10 am to 2 pm.  See you there!
