Q. How long have you lived in Fenelon Falls?
a. We bought our home in Fenelon Falls in 2017 and permanently moved from Mississauga to Fenelon in 2021. We had spent many summers vacationing in Fenelon before deciding this is where we wanted to live.
Q. What is your business?
a. After 26 years in Mississauga, I sold my business and relocated to Fenelon Falls. Finding good garden soils and organic solutions was difficult, so I used my expertise to select and deliver the best products to customers homes. That is when I started Ground FX Landworks Inc. right here in Fenelon Falls.
Q. What do you love about Fenelon Falls?
a. I find the people (both residents and business owners) to be very warm and welcoming. The cliché “small hometown feeling” is alive and well in Fenelon.
Q. Why did you join the Board?
a. I have never been involved with a Chamber of Commerce anywhere, and to be honest, didn’t really know what they did. I discovered that it is not a government entity but a non-profit organization with a volunteer Board of Directors. The Chamber’s goal is to foster economic development by assisting local business members, which ultimately benefits the entire community. With my business background, I decided to join in to see if I could help.
Q. What would you like people to know about the Chamber of Commerce?
a. Most residents appreciate how quaint Fenelon Falls has grown more beautiful over these past years; however, few know that it’s not from some power above, but from the hard work and time commitments of many volunteers in several local groups that make this happen. The Fenelon Falls Chamber of Commerce is one of those groups and is dedicated to helping its hometown, local Canadian Businesses by holding Member Educational Functions, Community Events (promoting our local businesses), Beautification Programs, the Country Living Show, etc., all aimed at bringing business to Fenelon Falls to help it prosper for the benefit of business and residents alike.
Even with these volunteer efforts, organizing these programs and events incurs costs, and the Chamber depends on membership dues from local business members and their support as proud members giving back to their community.
