Connect with Heritage: Register for a free historic property or farm workshop
You’re invited to two free workshops offered by the municipality’s Heritage Planning program. Property owners and heritage enthusiasts alike can take this opportunity to uncover the history of unique properties. These free workshops require advanced registration and have limited space.
Workshop 1: Farm Property and Genealogy Research
Do you own a farm in Kawartha Lakes and want to learn about its history?
This workshop will focus on researching the history of farms and farm families in Kawartha Lakes. We'll guide you through the process of researching your farm's history - from the issuance of a crown patent to the present day. This workshop is your go-to resource for connecting with the agricultural history of your property.
The workshop is also intended to assist farmers and farm families with nominations for the Farm Milestone Recognition Program which recognizes and celebrates generations of farming in Kawartha Lakes.

Workshop 2: How to Research Your Historic Home
This workshop is suitable for the owners of historic rural and urban properties throughout Kawartha Lakes, or for anyone interested in learning more about researching historic buildings. You will be guided through what resources are available to decodethe history of a property and its past occupants, and how to use them.
