Create your own job with Summer Company
Kawartha Lakes – Calling all students who are 15 to 29 years old! What if this summer you didn’t just get a job… you created one?
The 2026 Summer Company program is open! It gives students the chance to start and run a real business over the summer with training, mentorship, and up to $3,000 in grant funding. If you’re a local student, you’re invited to step up, start something bold, and become your own boss.
If you’re returning to school in Fall 2026 and ready to challenge yourself, this could be your summer.
What is Summer Company?
Summer Company is a program delivered by the Kawartha Lakes Small Business Centre in partnership with the Province of Ontario. It helps students turn a business idea into a real plan, then launch and operate their own business. While their business is running, they will earn income over the summer as well as learn practical business and life skills.
This is not just a “how-to” course. This summer, you could actually run your own business.
