How to Spend the Perfect Fall Day in Fenelon Falls
Fall is a beautiful time of year, especially in Fenelon Falls. With its vibrant foliage, charming small-town atmosphere, and scenic landscapes, it’s the perfect backdrop for a cozy autumn day. Whether you're a Kawartha Lakes local looking for a mini adventure or from somewhere in Ontario, like the GTA, in search of the perfect fall escape, this day-trip itinerary is just what you need.
Start with a Cozy Breakfast & Fall-Inspired Coffee
Cafes are lovely year-round, but there’s something about fall that makes them seem even more special. Fenelon Falls has several cozy cafés, so if you're craving something sweet or are looking for a full breakfast spread, there’s a spot for you.
White Cottage Cafe is the place to go if you’re looking for a full sit-down breakfast. For all the sweet iced latte lovers, try their cinnamon roll latte (made with espresso, homemade brown sugar cinnamon butter syrup, and topped with a cream cheese whipped topping). It’s a fall dream in a cup.
Sip and Waterbridge Chocolate Café are great quick stops if you're after something light, like a coffee and a snack. Don’t miss their seasonal specials either, especially the crowd-favourite pumpkin spice latte.
Stroll Through the Heart of Town
The Ps indicate public parking lots in town
With a coffee in hand, take a stroll through downtown Fenelon Falls. The area is entirely walkable, with plenty of public parking available.
Spending a relaxed morning enjoying the community’s arts and culture is always a good idea. A few great options to check out include the Colborne Street Gallery, Maryboro Lodge (The Fenelon Museum), or, if you're into antiques, there are a couple of charming spots on the main street worth browsing.
Afternoon Adventure
Now for some afternoon fun! It’s the perfect time to get outside and soak up the beauty of fall. If you're looking to stay close to town, take a bike ride along Cameron Lake on the Victoria Rail Trail. The trail stretches for 85 km, so you can go as far as you like before heading back. For the most scenic ride, we recommend starting at the Garnet Graham Beach Park entrance. Don’t have a bike? No problem—rentals are available right by Lock 34.
If you’re in the mood for a classic autumn outing, like visiting a pumpkin patch or navigating a corn maze, there are several farms within a 30–40 minute drive from town. For over 8 acres of pumpkins, check out McQuaid’s Country Market in Omemee. Or, if you're up for something spooky, Stellmar Farm in Little Britain offers a haunted corn maze for some early Halloween festivities.
Dinner to Wrap up the Day
After a full day of exploring, you’ve definitely earned a great meal. Fenelon Falls has plenty of dining options, so whether you want a waterside patio or a warm indoor spot to unwind, there are plenty of great options.
Murphy’s and Fenelon Falls Brewing Co. both offer scenic views of Lock 34, ideal for a sunset dinner.
The Locker at the Falls puts you right up close to the falls themselves, a truly memorable setting.
