Political Rug Hooking Exhibition Coming to Fenelon Falls
This summer, The Colborne Street Gallery is breaking new ground with a fiercely political, deceptively cozy exhibition that challenges the boundaries of traditional craft. Opening on July 4, 2026, A Hooker’s Manifesto features the contemporary rug hooking of Fenelon artist Linda Smith, serving as a creative response to the re-election of Donald Trump and the erosion of democratic norms south of the border.
The public is invited to attend the opening reception on July 4 from 3 - 5 pm to view these striking works in person, meet the artist, and engage in a unique cultural moment in the heart of the Kawarthas. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.
50% of all proceeds from sales in this exhibition will be donated directly to the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA). The show runs until September 8.
