Reflections from the Tourism Office: A Summer to Remember

As we enjoy this extended summer season at the Fenelon Falls Tourism Office, it feels like the perfect moment to reflect on the many wonderful experiences we’ve shared with visitors. Over the past few months, our team has welcomed hundreds of people—each with their own story, their own reason for being here, and many smiles as they snapped a photo in the giant chair, filling the air with laughter and joy.

Day trippers arrived from the city in search of green spaces, open water, and a slower pace of life—and found the respite they were craving. International visitors made the journey to reunite with family after years apart, reminding us of the special role Fenelon Falls plays in creating lasting memories.

We met campers from Balsam Lake Provincial Park and nearby trailer parks, dropping by for rainy-day ideas or to discover trails, shops, and hidden gems. Weekenders came too—some experiencing “lake life” for the first time, others sharing decades of stories. And then there were the boaters, from locals cruising in for dinner or a frozen treat to travelers navigating the full length of the Trent-Severn Waterway and beyond. One couple from England docked right outside our office for a number of days, and we were delighted to help them with restaurant recommendations, BikeShare rental support, and stories about life in our village.

Visitors consistently tell us how much they love Fenelon’s warm hospitality, vibrant downtown, colorful flowers, dining, shopping, and lively entertainment. To everyone who helps make Fenelon Falls such a special place to live and visit—thank you!
