Local Turtle Migration
Submitted by Chris Greaves
Every year there is a turtle migration from the lake to the land. Every year mother turtles choose a spot and using their hind legs dig into the sand making a nest to cradle their eggs. The following video and article were submitted by Chris Greaves. Click read more to check it out!
Tulips in Bloom
Submitted by Chris Greaves. Photography by Justin Greaves.
Last year Mary and I went to D Day 75 events. In the fall of 2019, we bought two bags of tulips from the Royal Canadian Legion and planted them in our front garden. They are memorial tulips remembering the thousand Canadian troops who helped liberate Amsterdam on May 5th, 1945, and the thousands who died liberating Holland from Nazi oppression. Our grandson Justin Greaves took the photos. He does freelance work now after several years with the Toronto Star organization.
