Three Free Cyber Awareness Information Sessions
October is Cyber Security Awareness Month, and Kawartha Lakes Public Library, in collaboration with Kawartha Lakes Economic Development and the Kawartha Lakes Small Business Centre, is hosting three free Cyber Awareness Information Sessions aimed at equipping the general public with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the digital landscape safely and confidently.
The presenter for the sessions will be Edward Hilton, Economic Development Officer (Small Business), Kawartha Lakes.
“We've heard the growing concerns regarding cyber awareness and have worked with some small businesses in Kawartha Lakes that have unfortunately fallen victim to online fraud. The insights gained from these interactions are too important to keep to ourselves, and we believe we can make a meaningful difference in bringing awareness to the wider community. The Kawartha Lakes Public Library is a great community partner to collaborate with on this issue,” said Hilton.
These information sessions are designed for anyone interested in developing a deeper understanding of how to engage with the digital world and will cover the following topics: protecting your personal information, identifying and preventing cyber threats, social media safety, and securing your devices.
