Tourism Ambassador Team Summer Wrap-Up
Hi, everyone, it’s Chantal, the marketing coordinator here at the Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce. I am happy to announce that I’m staying on for the rest of 2025! But, with summer coming to an end, it’s also time again to say goodbye to the Tourism Ambassador Team. The TAs spend their summer answering questions around Fenelon Falls, promoting local businesses on social media, assisting the City of Kawartha Lakes with their Business Count Survey, picking up garbage to keep our community clean, and so much more. I asked the Tourism Ambassador Team to answer some questions about their summer in Fenelon Falls.
What were your favourite memories this summer while being a TA?
Chloe: Spending time exploring Fenelon Falls with Alexis and meeting many new, interesting people. A specific memory that comes to mind is seeing Glenn from the Fenelon Museum impersonating Elvis. Also, when Zoo to You came to Garnet Graham Beach Park on Canada Day!
Alexis: As a TA, I loved experiencing the abundance of local music within the community. From performances at The Locker to the incredible shows at The Grove Theatre, there’s always a wonderful opportunity to foster a greater sense of community. This job has granted me the ability to strengthen my relationships with both locals and visitors, while having such amazing people to work with. I couldn’t have asked for a better job experience.
Shelby: I really enjoyed giving visitors recommendations on places to eat, things to see and events to attend. It made me appreciate all the great things this community has to offer. I also saw my first show at The Grove Theatre on the opening night of The Beatles Tribute, which was fantastic!
What’s the most interesting thing you learned about the community this summer?
Chloe: How everyone is just so kind, no matter what. There is a very strong sense of community in Fenelon Falls with all the locals and business owners.
Alexis: One thing that surprised me was how connected everyone is in the community. It’s such a drastic change to the way people interact in big cities, and it’s truly been such a wonderful experience learning about the different community events that bring everyone closer together.
Shelby: I learned that this summer was a lot of people’s first time visiting Fenelon Falls. I talked with people from across the country and beyond, some even visited from Europe and Australia. It was very interesting to learn about how people discovered Fenelon and their reasons for coming. Most of the time, it was people visiting their families or friends, or while they were on their boat, but the odd time, people said they found Fenelon Falls by simply zooming in on a map!
If somebody only had time to do one thing in Fenelon Falls, what would you suggest?
Chloe: Go grab some fro-yo from Country Cupboard and walk along the water (preferably as the sun is setting).
Alexis: Go see a show at The Grove Theatre! Each night they put on such an outstanding performance, and I feel extremely lucky to have experienced something so incredible. However, if you prefer to do something more adventurous, I would highly suggest renting one of the Kawartha Co-op bikes and riding along the Victoria Rail Trail. The views along the water are breathtaking, especially during sunset.
Shelby: I would recommend spending some time at Garnet Graham Beach Park. Whether you want to have a picnic, go swimming, or want to learn more about the village’s history at our local museum, there’s something for everyone there. My favourite thing to do there is bring a snack or drink to enjoy while sitting by the lake.

It’s been a pleasure working with this incredible Tourism Team, and I’m sad it’s time to say goodbye (and not just because I can’t force them to be in my social media videos anymore). I’m so grateful for all they’ve done to promote Fenelon Falls and support our local businesses. I wish them the very best as they head back to school. As for me, I’ll be sticking around through fall and winter, and I’m excited to continue showing off the beauty of our little town in every season.
