The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo is a living tapestry of agricultural heritage, cutting-edge technology, and community vitality. With historical attendance soaring between 60,000 and 80,000 visitors, this event transcends boundaries, drawing people from across the globe to witness the transformation of Kawartha Lakes' fields into a vibrant expo unlike any other.
Imagine a tented city with non-stop entertainment, plowing competitions that track the evolution of farming from horse-drawn plows to the latest in agricultural tech, and a full-service RV Park to accommodate our guests from near and far. It's an immersive experience that celebrates the heart and soul of rural life and the communities that keep these traditions alive.
We Need You!
Judy Poulin, chair of the volunteer committee, suspects the event could need up to 1,000 volunteers.
”We are looking for all skill types and there are opportunities for everyone,” she said. “We start weeks before and work until days after, so the need is great - we really need all hands on deck!”
Your participation as a volunteer offers a unique opportunity to engage with the land's legacy, support sustainable agriculture, and ensure the success of an event that educates, entertains, and inspires. Whether you have a few hours to spare or can commit more time, your contribution will help sow the seeds for an unforgettable experience.
Don't miss your chance to be part of this extraordinary event and see what makes the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo a cornerstone of agricultural excellence and community spirit. To volunteer, email us at ipm2024@plowingmatch.org or visit our website to fill out the Volunteer Form.
