Iron Piece to be auctioned off for Kawartha Lakes Food Source
Submitted by Murray Anderson
Local artist Murray Anderson is auctioning off ornamental iron pieces representing the pandemic, people lost, and a united Canada. The first iron piece, an 8 ft x 4 ft trellis, is now available and will be auctioned off in support of Kawartha Lakes Food Source. The colours used represent the following sacrifices:
Gold — police and military
Blue — the people of Nova Scotia via Saint Andrew’s Cross
Red — all of our hearts across Canada, whole or broken
White — first line health and other workers that bind us together
Black — the road we were on prior to the pandemic
For an idea of scale, the wooden fence in the background is over 5 1/2 feet tall. The trellis can be viewed at 99 Lindsay Street, Fenelon Falls (behind the Gift & Gallery). To contact Murray and find more information about the auction, visit his page on Facebook, Stellar Creations Mechanical & Metalworking. 100% of proceeds are going to Kawartha Lakes Food Source.
