Welcoming Fenelon Dental to the Main Street
My name is Dr. Rupinder Dhaliwal, but my friends and patients just call me Rupinder. I graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science with High Distinction. During my last few years of undergrad, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I was debating pursuing mathematics or medicine. My girlfriend at the time, Kiran (my now wife), wanted to be a dentist since she was in elementary school. She gave me the idea of pursuing dentistry since it's a mix of art and science - you get to work with your hands and build long-term relationships with patients. So, I copied her, and applied for dental school. During my U of T interview, I told the interviewee's that I didn't know much about dentistry at all, I just copied my girlfriend and applied because she told me I'm very good with my hands. They must have liked my answer, because that was the beginning of the best 4 years of my life! I graduated from U of T with my Doctor of Dental Surgery with Honours. I enjoy doing dentistry, but don't enjoy getting dental work done myself. The best part of the job is seeing the same patients over several years, and getting to know their loved ones. That's what makes my practice, Fenelon Dental, a true family practice.
What Brought Us to Fenelon Falls:
I knew I wanted to own and operate my own dental office when I was in dental school. The dentist I worked for after I graduated ended up selling his office during my associateship. I enjoyed working with him, but took this as a sign to move outside of my comfort zone and take a gamble on myself. I visited the office for a total of 15 minutes, spoke to Mary for an hour, and bought the office in January of 2017.
Services We Offer:
We offer a full range of dental services, and are constantly adding more. From cleaning and fillings to root canals, crowns/veneers/cosmetic work and dental implants. We have Steve Kerr, who is a denturist, as part of our team. He does all our dentures/removable prosthetic work. We also have an in house ceramist, Jay Mandel, as part of our team. He does complete custom stain for patients getting cosmetic work done so they don't have to drive anywhere.
