To Chambers and Business Associations in CKL and Haliburton

Since the start of the pandemic, A Place Called Home has seen a substantial increase in the numbers of people needing assistance both in the City of Kawartha Lakes and the County of Haliburton. The pandemic created fear and uncertainty resulting in more people living in precarious situations, while also impacted by the local housing market and the lack of availability of rooms and apartments.

A Place Called Home has to raise $1.5 million dollars to complete our new emergency shelter.  Over the past few months, we have engaged in a mail out campaign, providing information on several ways that professionals and businesses can assist. This new shelter will provide us with the ability to better address the needs of our community and better support those who are struggling.

Our credit card platform of choice is Canadahelps.ca or APCH.ca (once you are on the website go to Donate). You may choose under Apply your donation to the fund line set up by APCH.

New Build Construction or New Furnish A Room.

For Buy a Brick – Build a Shelter go to events or visit www.apchbricks.com

Charitable donations receipts will be issued for all donations.

For those not in a position to financially assist us, please help us by using your voice in a future customer mailout or newsletter and provide some information on our campaign.

With your help, we can make this new shelter a success and continue to get people off the street and on their feet.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
