Our Closing Weekend Shows!

Heather’s Garden Variety: Clover

Broadway and musical theatre favourites return to The Grove Theatre stage with Heather's  Garden Variety: Clover!

Tight friendships and tight harmonies. Theatre performers and friends, Heather McGuigan, Jade  Repeta and Alexis Gordon explore a wide range of music from Broadway to the Rankins in this  joyful concert. Each has a long and celebrated career across Canada and this intimate and  personal concert is a unique way to meet some stars of the Canadian Stage.

Crystal Shawanda at The Grove Theatre

"The songs just fell out of me and throughout the recording it was like setting my voice free,” she  says. “I can’t help but feel like I’m home, no longer holding back.”

Crystal’s album Church House Blues is a modern take on the blues, but is deeply rooted with  heart-wrenching laments and catchy rump-shakers. It’s where the north meets the south and  captures the resilience of the human spirit — much like the way Crystal does.

Dance in The Grove

Prepare to be swept off your feet by two artistic dance performances featuring Bill Coleman and  Co. as well as Toronto’s Dance Fachin!

“Coleman’s work has transcended traditional theatrical settings to include mountain tops,  rainforests, prairies and urban construction sites. He has created a bold collection of large scale, site-specific works, collaborating with diverse groups including WWII veterans, Aboriginal  communities, fishing villages, ranching towns and urban neighbourhoods."

“Dance Fachin aims to create shows with a dance narrative, wherein dance becomes the  primary vehicle with which to tell a story. Dance Fachin, under the direction of Emma Bartolomucci, incorporates dynamic music that engages the audience, making technical dance  a more accessible art form for mainstream patrons. The company’s mission is to tell stories from  different cultural perspectives, expanding global and societal views through the medium of dance.”
