Saying Goodbye to the 2021 Tourism Ambassadors

After a great summer of beautifying the village, creating engaging social media content and welcoming visitors to Fenelon Falls, the Tourism Ambassador program is winding down for another summer.

We asked the Tourism Ambassadors a few questions to reflect on their experience.

Q:  What new facts did you learn about Fenelon Falls?

Through the historical walking tour we learned about the founding of Fenelon Falls, the large number of fires that occurred in the village and that there used to be a hotel with stairs that led down into the gorge.

I learned about the downtown revitalization project and am excited about the investment into the town.

The Horticultural Society maintains really beautiful gardens all around Fenelon.

Q:  What was your favourite part of being a TA?

Meeting and talking with the many unique people who have visited Fenelon.

I really enjoyed learning about many of the businesses in town that I had not heard of before.

Making instagram stories.

The opportunity to meet people from all over.

I enjoyed talking with the business owners and getting to know them.

Q:  What is your favourite way to spend an afternoon in Fenelon Falls?

Going to brunch at On the Locks with my mom and checking out the Salvation Army store.

Taking a bike ride up the Victoria Rail Trail.

Shopping for a book with Dana the Book Lady.

Bicycling around the village.

Getting an Ice cream cone at Slices Nā€™ Scoops and visiting my favourite shops.

The Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Alex, Anna, Hannah, Shelby and Chantal for their enthusiasm and hard work through rain or shine this summer. We wish you all the best as you head back to school this fall.

We would also like to acknowledge the City of Kawartha Lakes, the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada for the funding which made the 2021 Tourism Ambassador Program possible.
