Kawartha Lakes launches #EyeSpyKL Cultural Scavenger Hunt

With the changing colours and cooler temperatures, now is the perfect time for a drive and game of Eye Spy. From September 4 to October 31, spot the icon posted at one of 18 cultural locations across Kawartha Lakes and learn new details about some of our oldest artefacts.

The Arts & Heritage Trail is hosting a Cultural Scavenger Hunt designed to allow safe tourism throughout Kawartha Lakes. The self guided trail, developed in 2017, has over 50 locations. It features a number of attractions that share the culture and heritage of our beautiful region. With cooler days approaching, grab your hoodies and head out for a drive.

A staple to any good road trip is a game of Eye Spy. That’s why this year’s Cultural Scavenger Hunt theme is #EyeSpyKL. How to play:

  1. Visit kawarthalakes.ca/culturalscavengerhunt and check out the available cultural locations;

  2. Plan your trip and look for each of the signature icons at their respective site;

  3. Take a photo with the icon and then post it to social media tagging @explorekawarthalakes and hashtag #EyeSpyKL.

Participating in the scavenger hunt is a fun and COVID-19 safe way to get out and tour Kawartha Lakes, and participants may even win some cool prizes!

The Cultural Scavenger Hunt explores the engineering marvels of the Trent-Severn Waterway, our heritage villages, historic structures and even a new performance space for live theatre and cozy storytelling. Not far from each Scavenger Hunt location are interesting artisans and craft cuisine nestled in villages with magnificent countryside vistas. Put together, its the best of Art and Heritage in Kawartha Lakes.
