Seasonal Shops are a MUST STOP this Long Weekend!

Can you believe it is already September? Time flies! If you are anything like myself, you are feeling all in a jumble to fit everything on your summer bucket list to-do in one final weekend before the school year begins! The Fall season is just as beautiful in the Kawarthas as any other, but there are some seasonal activities you have to cram in before the colder weather arrives. I hope this helps you as much as it helped me to divide and conquer that bucket list, and leave other activities and stops for when Autumn rolls around.

Get your frozen yogurt at The Country Cupboard. The frozen yogurt served at the Country Cupboard is a staple in Fenelon Falls, and it would be a tragedy if you went the whole summer, and another winter without a cone! You have until the end of Thanksgiving weekend to get your frozen yogurt. And maybe pick up a few other goodies while you're there. Don’t stress, The Country Cupboard is open all year round, but the yogurt machine is not. So go get yours, and get it fast!

You know summer is over when you see Slices n’ Scoops closing down for another season. Might just be the saddest sight you’d ever see. But the silver lining is you can always count on them to reopen come the May long weekend. But until then, go get your fix! Slices n’ Scoops is closing for the winter season September 6! If this wasn’t on your ‘to-do’ list this weekend, it is now. 4 more days of slices!!!!

What do you do after you get an ice cream or frozen yogurt? Sit by the Locks and watch the boats, big and small, pass through. The Locks are open this year until October 11th. If you are a seasonal cottager, this weekend is the weekend to sit by the Locks one last time before the Summer 2022 season. If you are a local, or visit your cottage throughout the year, you have a couple more weeks to enjoy the Trent Severn, or go through yourself. Those weeks will go by fast so make visiting the Locks, or going from lake to lake in your own boat, a priority!

Finally, the Splash Pad located at Garnet Graham Beach Park is closing for the season September 20th. The last day for the pad is September 19th! If you’ve been putting off taking your kiddos to the splash pad, these next couple of weeks are the time to go! The weather isn’t getting any warmer, so go have some fun in the sun while you still can!
