EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Application Deadline: October 3, 2021

Start and End Date: October 17, 2021 - March 31, 2022

Remuneration: $24/hr

Schedule: 30 hours per week. Hours will be flexible in most instances unless required at the amphitheatre for an event.

Employee Benefits: Digital training and Development Opportunities - The DS4Y program offers up to $4,000 of soft and hard skills training through Pinnguaq.

Location: Fenelon Falls, ON. All positions work from home unless required at the amphitheatre.

Online programs which are used daily are: Zoom, Slack, Google Drive (Shared Drives), AuthentiGate (virtual box office). All interns will have a weekly staff meeting led by the General Manager where weekly tasks or projects will be assigned. 

To be eligible, youth must:

  • Be between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the internship.

  • Has completed a post-secondary education at a recognized program.

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.

  • Must not be in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) during the internship.

  • Self-assess as underemployed, meaning they are employed below their level of education and/or hold part-time employment.

The Grove Theatre is a brand-new, outdoor amphitheatre, located in Fenelon Falls. Built into the garden grove of the Fenelon Fairgrounds, the spacious venue is home to high-quality professional theatre, live music and events. Friends and family will gather to enjoy open-air performances staged in an idyllic natural setting. The Grove Theatre is committed to being a space for everyone, hosting community events, programming and tours.

FUNDRAISING ASSISTANT

Job Description

The Fundraising Assistant will work directly with the Fundraising Committee maintaining donation records and donor information provided by our partners The Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes and The Rotary Club.  The assistant will support identifying and developing new fundraising opportunities with a variety of donors, assisting in the development and success of fundraising initiatives and events and researching prospective donors. 

Digital programs specific to the assistant: Canada Helps and formulas in Google Sheets.  The Fundraising Coordinator will also play a key role in researching a new CSR program and then transitioning The Grove Theatre from spreadsheet based information into a proper CSR for donor, ticketing and artist information and details. 

Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with the General Manager, provide key leadership on all individual and corporate funding, ensuring growth.

  • In consultation with the fundraising committee, develop, initiate and evaluate an annual. fundraising plan with targets, tactics and timelines.

  • Research and identify prospective strategic partners.

  • Assist with researching prospective donors, partners and sponsors.

  • Monitor and track sponsorship fulfillment .

  • Create sponsorship packages.

  • Attend Fundraising meetings, take and distribute minutes.

  • Correspond with fundraising committee members with zoom link and fundraising data.

  • Work directly with Marketing team in executing electronic and traditional fundraising campaigns.

  • Additional duties may be assigned as required through the growth of the organization.

What we’re looking for:

  • Fundraising experience or training is not essential but considered an asset. 

  • Excellent customer service, hospitality and relationship management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Commitment to and experience working with an anti-racism and anti-oppression framework.

  • Knowledge of the theatre industry. 

MARKETING COORDINATOR

Job Description

As a vital member of The Grove Theatre’s small but growing team, the Marketing Coordinator will be involved in supporting and executing the company's multi-platform marketing initiatives, with a specific focus on digital marketing, including emails, website, and social media. It will also involve traditional advertising through print and corresponding with advertising bodies and wider media relations. This position will also involve wider collaboration with external marketing bodies and the industry-standard tools they use.  

Digital programs specific to the Marketing Coordinator are: Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager (including Instagram), YouTube, paid advertising on Twitter, LinkedIn, MailChimp  and Buffer.  

Responsibilities

  • Assist with The Grove Theatre’s Marketing & Communications activities.

  • Manage and execute e-newsletters.

  • Produce engaging content for The Grove Theatre’s social media channels.

  • Develop content for The Grove Theatre’s website, ensuring it is up-to-date, accurate, and engaging.

  • Assist in planning and execution of promotional photo shoots, film shoots, publicity spots, audience engagement events and other marketing occasions as they arise.

  • Devise and write effective, accurate marketing copy and press releases that reflect The Grove Theatre’s brand strategy for a range of promotional materials and content.

  • Coordinate mail-outs, advertising, and print distribution.

  • Support community outreach and audience development strategies.

  • Research and place effective advertisements online and off to promote The Grove Theatre. 

  • Monitor news and social media to identify emerging issues and discussions that The Grove Theatre should be aware of and/or contributing to. 

  • Write and circulate press releases promoting upcoming events, including reaching out to publications to write reviews of TQFF films and the annual festival.

  • Additional duties may be assigned as required through the growth of the organization. 

What we’re looking for:

  • Collaborative, creative and strategic thinking individual. 

  • recently graduated from a post-secondary marketing/PR program or has 1 year of marketing experience. 

  • Experience with Google Docs, Adobe Creative Suite, SquareSpace is not essential but considered an asset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Commitment to and experience working within an anti-racism and anti-oppression framework.

  • Knowledge of the theatre industry.
