A Big Thank You to Wendy and Roger for Watering the Town’s Flowers this Summer!
Submitted by Julia Taylor of the Country Cupboard
Wendy and Roger were out early mornings, all weather conditions, all summer, keeping our downtown beautiful. Managing a tractor with a large water tank and long watering wand through the downtown area is no easy task! Wendy and Roger were dependable and consistent; they followed the fertilising schedule and troubleshot the tractor and equipment as issues arose. They are the reason the flowers looked so good and Fenelon Falls felt so vibrant! Thank you so much for being there for our community Wendy and Roger!
Pro tip, because we get asked alot- watering and fertilising daily is the secret these petunia’s showing so well!
The downtown flowers (bridge flowers, light post baskets, black metal ground planters, and the downtown business hanging baskets), tractor, and watering wages, are paid for by the businesses that purchase hanging baskets in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and grant funding from the City of Kawartha Lakes.
It would not be possible to run a program like this without the support of the businesses buying hanging baskets, and the many volunteer hours put in by Chamber of Commerce Board Members, so thank you to everybody who purchases hanging baskets and puts their valuable time into the program!
It takes a community, but boy does it show!
