On February 16, representatives from McMaster University visited Fenelon Falls Secondary School (FFSS) to sign two students to their football program.
Cade Jermyn and Ryder Lytle both committed to the McMaster Marauders, and will be attending the school in the fall. Jermyn will be attending the school for Engineering, and Lytle for a Bachelor of Arts.
“There is a lot of hard work and extra time that goes into running a football program at a secondary school, and it is really nice for our coaching staff (both past and present) to witness the growth and development of Cade and Ryder as players over the past five years,” said FFSS Head of Specialized Services, Christian Harrington. “Both students have got a great experience ahead of them and we all look forward to their success at McMaster next year. On behalf of Cade and Ryder and their families, I’d like to thank all coaches, administrators, convenors, and department heads that had a hand in providing them the opportunity to play football in Fenelon Falls!”
“I’m super grateful for the opportunity to play football at McMaster University. None of this would have been possible without the great coaches and football program at FFSS,” said Jermyn. “The atmosphere was supportive and the coaching staff always promoted hard work, day in and day out. My opportunity at McMaster stems directly from the program run at FFSS.”
“I chose McMaster University to further my academic and athletic career. My past years playing for the Falcons were some of the best memories I’ll have,” said Lytle. “I’m very excited to make many more memories as a part of the Marauders family. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank all the help and support I’ve received over the years from my family, friends, coaches, and teammates. As the first in my family to go to university, it’s a huge honour to continue my education at McMaster.”
Good luck Jermyn and Lytle!
