Rosedale has Community Spirit!

Last Saturday was the Jump in the Lake Challenge to fundraise for the Summit Wellness Centre to be built in Coboconk!

Many brave souls around Balsam, Shadow and Cameron Lakes jumped into the cold waters to support this project. In Rosedale, The Lambs Lane Legends and Barb Young (Friends of Barb and Mo) jumped for the third year in a row! The Lamb Lane Legends (Nicole, Patrick, Emma and Jordan) jumped off their dock and are the top team fundraisers, raising $3275! Way to go!

Barb Young, jumped from the Rosedale Pier, raising $2095! Super good!

This year, Barb was joined by the crew of the Kawartha Voyageur! The cruise ship parks in Rosedale to train their staff. When they heard about Barb’s jump, they decided to join in. They raised $275 from guests on their morning training run, and 17 of them jumped in with Barb! What fun!

All participants had an invigorating swim and were warmed by their Community spirit!

Bravo to all participants! YOU do make a difference!

Fundraising continues until May 14. Currently, $45.228.88 of the $100,000 goal has been raised.

The new Wellness Centre will be a hub for community health and community space for the under-served northern areas of Kawartha Lakes. By renovating and expanding the historic Train Station building in Coboconk, the Centre will offer more doctors and after-hours care, along with dental, physio, and many more services while preserving an important piece of our area’s history.
