From the Fenelon Falls Horticultural Club

You Can’t Buy HAPPINESS, but you can buy PLANTS! (And that’s pretty much THE SAME THING!)

Our big Plant Sale at the Fenelon Fairgrounds Agricultural Society Memorial Building is happening THIS Saturday beginning at 8:00 AM! Don’t miss it!

Not only will there be plants (Perennials, Annuals, Houseplants, Sun, Shade and Native plants), but we also have 9 Vendors participating at our sale!

Here is a list of our vendors, their business name and a brief description of what they are selling:

  • Christina Handley - - Handley Acres Metal Creations - - Ironwork, Garden Art.

  • Sylvia Keesmaat - Russet House Farm - - Heirloom Tomatoes, herbs, etc.

  • Nar’s Spice Bazaar - - Samosas and other Indian food.

  • Leslie Dyment - - Crow Hill Farm - - Honey, maple products, lamb.

  • Terry Atchison - - Artist working with Glass.

  • Andrea and Robert Majkut - - the Porch Light Bakery - - Freshly baked goods.

  • Donna Bisschop - - Artist working with leather, wood and mixed media.

  • Ryan and Jocelyn Veira - - Our Little Worm Farm - - Producers of natural soil amendments using worm compost.

There will be a table where you can purchase our beautiful “The Gardens of Fenelon Falls” book showcasing the community gardens we care for along with local artists’ paintings of the gardens. We will also have sets of cards showing photographs and paintings of Fenelon’s community gardens.

In addition to the aforementioned, there will be a table with donated garden items. If you would like to donate something (tools, garden art, etc.) please drop your donations off on Friday, May 27th between either 1:00 and 4:00 P.M. or between 5:00 and 7:00 P.M. The same times apply if you have plants of any kind to donate.

***Remember that all sales on Saturday are CASH ONLY.

On Monday, May 30th, the FFHS will be having our monthly meeting at the Fenelon Fairgrounds and if you would like to purchase any plants left over after the Saturday sale, please come at 6:15 P.M. to ensure that we can begin the meeting on time at 7:00 P.M. Our speaker, Beedahbin Peltier, will have some very interesting things to say about “Indigenous Perspectives On Biodiversity” and we will also, of course, have our “Gifting For Gardeners” baskets - tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5.00.

We hope to see you at BOTH of these events!
