Aladdin – A Traditional British Panto

Globus Theatre is excited to be presenting their 17th annual panto Aladdin, on from December 6-15.

In this traditional British Panto, written by Sarah Quick, we join our hero Aladdin on a thrilling adventure and meet many wonderful characters along the way - from the evil Abanazar to Aladdin’s Mother Widow Twankey, the rather clumsy Genie-of-the-Ring, and of course the object of Aladdin's affections, the beautiful Princess So Shi.

As with all British pantomimes, prepare for hilarious, colourful and crazy fun with traditional characters like the goodies PCs Ping, Pong & Paddle; the baddies Yucky, Yacky & Yickey and of course the fabulous Dame. While the kids will enjoy the action, songs and audience participation; local references and innuendos ensure that adults will love the story just as much, if not more.

Globus' annual panto is the one opportunity for community actors both young and young at heart to perform with the theatre’s professional company! This year we have more than 40 local youth participating. Many of the cast are enthusiastic participants from Globus’ School of Dramatic Arts who are joined by writer and Artistic Director Sarah Quick, Artistic Producer James Barrett and professional company members Kevin Sepaul, Rebecca Anne Bloom and Maya Doherty.

Playwright Sarah Quick says, "This will be Globus Theatre's 17th Panto and we can't wait to bring this year's fabulous characters to the stage. The play is funny, irreverent, topical and just so much fun! It's a time of great joy here at Globus Theatre and we can't wait to entertain the schools that are coming and the families that make it part of their holiday season every year."

Globus is excited to be presenting Aladdin for local schools too, including performances for Bobcaygeon Public School, Leslie Frost, Woodville, St. Lukes, Scott Young and Fenelon Township, before opening to the public from December 6 to December 15.

Whether you know a cast member or just want to experience the fun and action of the panto, make sure to get your tickets now. There are evening performances at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and matinee performances at 2 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. You can add a delicious 3 course Christmas dinner before performances on Friday and Saturday evenings.  This is a wonderful way to start the holidays and for many now an annual tradition so don't delay in getting your tickets now by visiting our website globustheatre.com or calling our box office 705 738 2037
