The Fenelon Falls Turkey Trot: DIRECTOR OF VOLUNTEERS

The Fenelon Falls Turkey Trot was founded in 2016 and has grown exponentially from a few local  runners to be one of the biggest running/power walking events in the Kawartha Lakes region. The event draws people for all over southern Ontario and Quebec.

This is health and fitness event that provides an opportunity for avid runners and power walkers  to get a good workout on thanksgiving weekend.

It is also a fund raiser for Fenelon Santa Day and it is a shoulder season sport tourism attraction  for the village of Fenelon Falls.

The 2024 event drew 400 registrants and the 2025 event is expected to be between 500 to 600. The growth in registrations means we need more volunteers to provide a great race day  experience.

The Director of Volunteers will work closely with the Race Director to recruit and train volunteers  to staff a variety of positions.

We have a small core of volunteers now but need probably another twenty to meet the demands  of more participants.

The ideal person would be an out-going self -starter who is well connected in the community. The person would be working closely with the Race Director to recruit and train volunteers and  have them ready for race day on Saturday October 11th 2025.

This is part time volunteer position with a modest honorarium to be discussed in the interview.
