Dr. Sarah Ebhomien accepts Dr. Peter Petrosoniak's Family Practice
The Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) is pleased to announce that Dr. Sarah Ebhomien has accepted the practice of Dr. Peter Petrosoniak, effective September 1, 2024.
Dr. Ebhomien received her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Port Harcourt, College of Health Sciences, Port Harcourt, Nigeria in 2012. She, and her family, immigrated to Canada in 2017 and she has just completed a Family Medicine Residency at Western University, London Ontario.
Dr. Ebhomien will be accepting all patients of Dr. Petrosoniak so is unable, at this time, to accept any new patients to the practice.
“KLHCI’s Board of Directors and Recruitment & Retention Coordinator are very pleased with the recruitment of Dr. Ebhomien. We have been working with Dr. Petrosoniak for some time and are happy that he will now be able to enjoy his retirement. We also want to thank Dr. Petrosoniak for the many years of care to his patients, the Kawartha Lakes community, and many hours assisting KLHCI’s overall recruitment efforts,” states Andrew Veale, KLHCI President.
Dr. Peter Petrosoniak states, “Firstly, I think we should feel honoured that Dr. Sarah Ebhomien and her family are choosing the Kawarthas to live in. Secondly, I feel privileged that she chose to take over my practice. I know that my patients will be pleased to have their medical needs addressed by a well-trained, kind and experienced physician. I want to welcome her family to the Kawarthas and her to my practice. I want to particularly thank Cindy Snider of Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative, who has worked tirelessly over the years to attract physicians to the Kawartha Lakes, and for her dedication in finding this physician for my practice.”
“I am excited to be providing care to Dr. Petrosoniak’s patients as I begin to know them. My family and I are looking forward to establishing ourselves and setting down roots in the Kawarthas”, states Dr. Ebhomien.
The KLHCI Board of Directors has representation from throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes. The board is interested in adding new members. Being a member of KLHCI’s Board of Directors is an excellent opportunity to volunteer and be part of this vital component of our community health care, the recruitment and retention of family doctors.
