Construction Notice: Fenelon Falls and Woodville Standpipes

The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), on behalf of Kawartha Lakes, is set to begin life cycle rehabilitation work on the Fenelon Falls and Woodville Standpipes (water towers).

As a part of the work, the standpipes will need to be taken offline for interior coating and mechanical upgrades for the duration of the respective projects.

The Woodville Standpipe is first up. It’ll be offline from approximately early September 2024 to early November 2024. The Fenelon Falls Standpipe will be offline from approximately early October 2024 to late November 2024. Please note that this is preliminary scheduling, and it is subject to change as the project progresses.

The standpipe work will not cause any interruptions to the regular, safe drinking water supply within the Woodville and Fenelon Falls communities.

While the work is taking place, the municipality requests residents and businesses voluntarily reduce their water consumption during the construction time frame.

The contractor hired to complete the work is BGL Contractors Corp. During the construction period, residents can expect to see construction vehicles near the standpipe sites and there is a possibility of increased noise during certain periods of the work.

The municipality, along with OCWA and BGL Contractors Corp. will do its best to minimize any disturbances to the local communities.
