This fall, we’re excited to bring an informative banner exhibit and engaging pop-up sessions to all 14 Public Library branches in Kawartha Lakes! Join us to learn about archaeology in our community and ask your questions about the Archaeological Management Plan (AMP).
What is an Archaeological Management Plan (AMP)?
An AMP is a vital tool being developed to ensure the preservation of our archaeological sites and resources, as required by provincial regulations. This project is currently gathering data and reaching out to Indigenous communities and archaeological stakeholders to understand the span of our archaeological resources in Kawartha Lakes and develop strategies for their long-term protection and management

Our Heritage Planning Officer will be at various library branches to share information, answer your questions, and discuss the importance of preserving our archaeological heritage. Here’s where you can find us:

Kirkfield: Thursday December 5, 10am to 2pm
Coboconk: Thursday December 12, 3pm to 6pm
Fenelon Falls: Wednesday December 18, 1pm to 5pm
Lindsay: Saturday December 21, 12pm to 4pm
