Fenelon Falls Seniors’ Club Builds Knowledge, Capacity and Community

What do a volunteerism workshop, a Safe Food Handler course, and an Artisan Craft Market have in common? The Fenelon Falls Seniors’ Club! The Club has recently hosted an Active Living Through Volunteerism workshop, and a Safe Food Handler certification course. This Saturday, the club is hosting its annual Fall Into Christmas Artisan Craft Market where many of the skills acquired will be utilized not only to benefit the volunteers and vendors but also the community. The Craft Market provides opportunity for newly certified Safe Food Handlers to volunteer in the kitchen preparing and serving veggie and meat chili that will be available for purchase at the market. Other volunteers will be helping to set up tables, sell 50/50 tickets, and welcome people to the market.

The market is a great place to support local artisans and crafters, as well as the Seniors’ Club and to get a jump on your holiday shopping. Hand-crafted Christmas items, preserves, chocolate, baked goods, fruit cake, wreaths, quilted items will all be available. As well, upcycled jewelry, books, printed art and resin crafted items and a variety of other goods will be available for purchase from local vendors and artisans. Come and enjoy a homemade muffin or chili and a bun while you shop.

The Fall Into Christmas Artisan Craft Market runs Sat Nov 1 from 10-3 at the Fenelon Falls Seniors’ Club, 58 Murray St. Fenelon Falls.
