Fenelon Falls Seniors’ Club Granted SALC Status
On August 13, 2026, the Fenelon Falls Seniors’ Club was officially granted the status of SALC, a Seniors Active Living Centre. This designation was part of a provincial announcement of additional funding allocated to organizations serving seniors across the province. The Right Honourable Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility, joined local M.P.P. Laurie Scott to make the announcement. “Investing in organizations like the Fenelon Falls Seniors’ Club is important for communities,” was emphasized by Minister Cho. For more than 50 years, the FFSC has served the needs of seniors in Fenelon Falls and surrounding areas. It is an incorporated, not-for-profit, charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. This SALC designation is incredibly exciting for the organization which has worked a number of years to bring this designation to fruition. Sincere thanks go out to the many volunteers now serving and those who have served the organization over the years. Thank you also to our 254 members and many community partners. It really does take a village!
FFSC provides a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment for older adults and seniors promoting wellness, social interaction, education, physical fitness and mental wellbeing. The club looks forward to continuing to provide activities, workshops and special events and to expanding its programs. A Program Coordinator, Cheryl Dyer, has been employed by the club to facilitate activities and events and to listen to ideas from club members and the community.
