Fenelon Falls Turkey Trot Fun Run/walk joins the Fenelon Chamber of Commerce

Date is set for Saturday October 7th 10 am Garnet Graham Park

Fenelon Falls annual thanksgiving weekend fun run/walk is set for Saturday October 7th 10 am at Garnet Graham Park.

The event is in its 6th year and is an opportunity for local folks and visitors from outside the area to take part in some outdoor physical activity on thanksgiving weekend. This is an inclusive event all are welcome. Running and or walking is your personal choice.

Local cottager and lifelong multi-sport athlete Dave Robinson took over the event from Brad Fraser last summer and ran a successful event with 120 participants. The event donated $1500 to the Fenelon Santa Day. With the experience and lessons learned from last year, Robinson is getting on top of the organizing early this year.

Registration is due to open May 1st with early bird pricing starting at $5.00 for children under 12 , $20.00 for juniors 13-19  and seniors 60+ and $30.00 for adults. Discounts available for Chamber members.

The event is due to start sharp at 10 am right in the park and the course is an out and back north east along the Kawartha Rail Trail. The course is flat and fast and features 3 distance options. 1k for kids, 5k and 10k for juniors, seniors and adults. All participants get a souvenir custom t-shirt, finishers medal and lunch courtesy of local merchants.

A bon fire will be an addition this year along with a prerace group warm up and a post race massage.

Prizes for overall and age group winners will also be available.

Robinson has set a goal of 200 participants and a pledge of $2000 to the Santa parade.

Registration opens May 1st.
