Fred Brandon Memorial Bonspiel

The Fenelon Falls Curling Club hosted the Fred Brandon Men's Bonspiel presented by Handley Lumber February 24th and 25th.  This is a competitive bonspiel with 16 teams coming from as far away as Galt (Cambridge) and Ottawa.  Although the competition was very strong, both draws were won by teams from Fenelon Falls.  The 1st draw was won by the Doug Peel team (including Mike Steele, Stu Dunn and Brian Saxon) with the 2nd draw won by Walt Hyatt's team (including John Donahue, Russell Gibson and Trevor Hunter).  Based on total points the Peel team was the grand champion.

Everyone had a great time with the curling supplemented with good food, raffles, a trivia competition and a few drinks.  Thank you to Gail Allman and her team for running the kitchen and all the volunteers who provided baked goods, including those fabulous cakes made by Kirsten Meehan, Kawartha Cakes.  We look forward to hosting this successful tournament again next year.
