Get Ready to Ride: Kawartha Lakes Classic Returns August 23, 2025

The 22nd Annual Kawartha Lakes Classic Cycling Tour rolls into Oakwood on Saturday, August 23, 2025, with Boston Pizza – Lindsay as the proud presenting sponsor.

Starting from the Oakwood Lions Mariposa Community Hall, cyclists can choose from five scenic routes — 20 km ( road or trail options) 50 km, 70 km gravel, 100 km, and 160 km—each showcasing the natural beauty of the Kawartha Lakes region. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a family looking for a fun and active day outdoors, there’s a route for everyone.

Organized by the Kawartha Cycling Club in partnership with A Place Called Home, the tour supports emergency shelter services for individuals and families in Kawartha Lakes and the County of Haliburton experiencing homelessness.

To kick off the day, Westerby Entertainment will provide energizing music before the ride to get everyone revved up to ride. Afterward, participants will enjoy a post-ride lunch featuring pizza and Caesar salad from Boston Pizza – Lindsay, plus dessert from Kawartha Wholesale Bakery—a delicious way to celebrate a ride well done.

The Oakwood & District Lions Club will provide a cash bar after the ride, with all proceeds going to A Place Called Home. It’s a great chance to relax, connect, and toast to a meaningful cause.

Riders can also take advantage of a special combo package: enjoy 10% off accommodations at Days Inn & Suites – Lindsay and receive two free tickets to the Grove Theatre in Fenelon Falls—perfect for turning the ride into a fun-filled weekend getaway. Those choosing to fundraise will receive custom event cycling socks and NiteRider bike lights, adding flair to their gear and pride to their ride.

Registration is $100 until event day, when it increases to $120. Students pay $50, and youth just $15. In-person registration will be available on-site at the Oakwood Lions Mariposa Community Hall.

With the ride just around the corner, excitement is building. Join the movement, support your community, and enjoy an amazing day of cycling, camaraderie, and fun.
