Happy Appy Workshop

On Thursday May 11, the Fenelon Falls Grannies for Grannies held a mini fundraiser at the library. Tammy, from Thurstons Family Butchers, was the workshop leader. Tammy was inspired at a young age by watching the movie Mermaids. Cher’s character was a woman who showed how much she cared by how she prepared every meal, always done up as party food. The Grannies and guests at the Happy Appy workshop did feel the care and love Tammy put into her presentation.

We learned how to make spring hors d,oeuvres, using light cream cheese spread with cucumber and microgreens, a perfect summer creation. We also made assorted summer fresh kabobs, a crowd pleaser, with both taste and looks and a way to keep to dietary restrictions. To decorate our kebabs we added roses made of Provolone cheese or Pillers sliced meats. Cheese ball chicks were fun, for Easter or a baby shower. Another lesson was mini muffin cup appetizers. We learned how to make our own cocktail cups out of tortillas.

Thanks Tammy, and thanks to Terry and her team of organizers. A fun event!
