Kawartha Lakes O.P.P. Detachment Board seeks new member

The municipality is seeking a resident who is interested in making a positive impact in the community to serve as a member of the City of Kawartha Lakes O.P.P Detachment Board.

The public appointee to the City of Kawartha Lakes O.P.P. Detachment Board should be an active member of the community with a general knowledge of O.P.P. Detachment Boards duties and responsibilities and an awareness of community safety issues and programs within the City of Kawartha Lakes.

To qualify for this volunteer role, interested applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • A resident of the City (own, rent, live in shared accommodation where you do not pay rent or live in the municipality with no fixed address); or

  • An owner of property in the City or a person who rents property in the City, or the spouse of the above; and

  • at least eighteen years of age; and

  • a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.

  • Applicant must live in the jurisdiction covered by the Kawartha Lakes O.P.P Detachment

The City of Kawartha Lakes O.P.P Detachment Board will advise the Ontario Provincial Police Detachment Commander assigned to the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment, with respect to O.P.P. services in the catchment area of the Board. The Board will be comprised of three members of Council, one Provincial appointee and one member of the public.
