Local Businesswomen Gathered in Fenelon Falls for a Night in Support of Them
To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce hosted She Means Business, an event to support and connect businesswomen in the Kawartha Lakes. She Means Business took place on March 27, 2026, at the Fenelon Falls Seniors Centre. It was a fantastic turnout, with women from a range of industries represented.
Resilience strategist, author, and skydiver, Lana Starchuck, was the night’s keynote speaker. Despite not feeling her best, Lana embodied resilience as she powered through her presentation. She hooked the audience right from the jump, literally, by showing a video of her perspective jumping out of an airplane. She turned her stories from her skydiving endeavours, such as when her parachute failed to open on a jump, into lessons on how to act in high-stress situations and how not to let fear guide one’s decisions.

After the keynote presentation, door prize gift baskets were awarded, made up with items donated by Bés 57, Catering Company Kawartha Lakes, Country Cupboard, GroundFXLandworks, Locker at the Falls, and Zero to Hero K9. Following this, attendees connected and networked with fellow businesswomen.
The Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone who attended and the event sponsors: Launch Kawartha, Locker at the Falls, and GroundFXLandworks for helping make the night a success. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.
