Join Our Tourism Team This Summer: Applications Now Open!

It’s that time of year again! The Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce is looking to hire two outgoing and friendly individuals to be the town’s Tourism Ambassadors for the summer. The job description and eligibility requirements are listed below.

Position:  Tourism Ambassador - Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce Office/Tourist Information Centre

Duration:  Late June to the end of August 2026 - 8 weeks

Wages:  $17.60/hour Hours per week:  35

Responsibilities:

• Welcome visitors to the community and answer questions about local events, amenities, businesses, and recreation to promote a positive experience while in Fenelon Falls.

• Ambassadors will work out of the Tourism Office and the pop-up Tourism Office, as well as walking along the locks, beach, and downtown areas to engage with visitors. 

• Help maintain a clean and welcoming downtown and beach area.

• Promote Fenelon Falls, local events, the Chamber of Commerce, etc., on social media.

• Collect data for the KL Business Count Survey. 

• Engage with Chamber members and local business owners. 

• Cover for the Chamber Office staff if required.

Requirements: 

• Outgoing personality and willingness to engage with visitors.

• Strong communication skills.

• Friendly and professional in-person communication skills.

• Knowledge of the local area, amenities, businesses, and history is considered an asset.

• Working knowledge of various social media platforms.

• Must be available to work weekends.

• Enthusiasm for Fenelon Falls 

Eligibility requirements: 

• Age: Be between 15 and 30 years of age.

• Citizenship/Status: Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

• Legal Status: Be legally entitled to work in Canada.

• Location: Youth must be legally entitled to work in the province or territory where the job is located.

• Notes: International students, such as those with a work permit for studies, are generally not eligible. You do not need to be a student to apply.
