Love, Laughter & Complications: Globus Theatre Presents Norm Foster’s A Woman’s Love List this Fall

From September 30 to October 10, Globus Theatre in Bobcaygeon presents A Woman’s Love List, a hilarious new comedy by Canada’s beloved playwright Norm Foster. When Megan and Carly set out to create a list describing their Perfect Man, they’re stunned when their ideal person appears before them. But as their fantasy becomes reality, the women discover that finding love isn’t about finding someone perfect—it’s about being willing to love someone, quirks, flaws, and all.

“A Woman’s Love List is a new play of mine. However, it is not entirely new,” Foster explains. “A few years ago I wrote a play called The Love List, which was about two men who accidentally conjure up what they think is the perfect woman. Then a friend of mine suggested that I write a play in which two women conjure up their idea of the perfect man, and A Woman’s Love List was born.”

Globus has been proudly championing the production of new and Canadian theatre in the Kawartha Lakes over its 23 seasons since 2004, and Foster’s plays have always been featured. In fact, this is the 23rd Norm Foster play that Globus is producing: “It’s kismet. I have always had a good relationship with Globus and with the wonderful couple, Sarah and James, who are at the helm. And I thank them for their years of support and for their contribution to the arts.” -Norm Foster

Being the country’s most produced playwright of the last two decades, a recipient of the Los Angeles Drama-Logue Award, and an Officer of the Order of Canada, it’s no wonder why Globus continually stages his incredible work.

Starring as Megan is Globus’s own Sarah Quick, who has acted in and directed countless Globus productions over the years as the theatre’s Artistic Director, most recently as Gwen in Beyond the Sea. Sharing the stage as Carly is Elana Post, who is also not a stranger to Globus audiences. Post has starred in several popular Globus productions including Desperate to be Doris, The Ladies Foursome and Hurry Hard.

This play cannot be without The Perfect Man, who will be played by Allan Cooke. Patrons may recognize him from earlier this season as Clive in Murder at the Match - 2026 World Cup Edition, as well as a pivotal character in Quick’s own Do you Take this Man?
