Pop-Up for Good Trouble
Something is brewing in Fenelon Falls…
Coffee? Some other concoction?
Curiosity? Commotion?
Creative combustion?
Yes, could be.
We’re calling it BROUHAHA.
Think of it as a town front porch: you never know who will pop by to say Hello.
It’s an opportunity to waste time.
Here’s the concept:
Every other week or so, we host a Pop-up Happy Hour with some dubious reason to gather — to paint like you’re in kindergarten, discuss heat pumps, iron napkins — at some location in town, paired with a suitable drink (occasionally alcoholic). You bring a mug, maybe a small material fee when needed, and a sense of curiosity and neighbourliness.
We’re holding it at the inconvenient hour of 5:00 - 6:00 pm, when you should be preparing dinner, reading the mail, scrolling through what you’ve missed so far in the day. But just this once (every couple of weeks), wouldn’t it be more fun to make a new connection or two, eye to eye, with people who may even share an interest?
Our first BROUHAHA offering will be on Monday, August 3, 5:00 pm, at the Fenelon Falls Post Office, to send a postcard to someone. Bring an address, and $1.44 for domestic postage (postcards and stamps provided!), and a mug of course. (There will be tea.) The Post Office will be closed for the Civic Holiday, but who can resist pulling on that swivelled door of the big red drop box just outside the Post Office door, available 24/7, and dropping in your completely stamped and addressed communication? And in good company.
Keep an eye on the Town Crier for new BROUHAHA announcements, and follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
Come and waste a perfectly good hour!
