Summer Company grants awarded to local student entrepreneurs
The Kawartha Lakes Small Business Centre (SBC) is pleased to announce the selection of six local students who are participating in this year's Summer Company Program.
The Summer Company Program, facilitated by the Kawartha Lakes Small Business Centre, offers young entrepreneurs aged 15 to 29 an opportunity to launch and operate their own businesses over the course of the summer.
With help from experienced mentors and a grant of $3000 from the Province of Ontario, participants gain valuable hands-on experience in entrepreneurship while contributing to the local economy. The Summer Company Program not only provides practical experience but also encourages creativity and innovation, helping participants to build valuable skills that will serve them well in their future endeavors.
"We are thrilled to see the enthusiasm and creativity being displayed by our Summer Company participants this year," said Sandy Greenberg, Kawartha Lakes Economic Development Officer - Small Business Programs. “We continue to be committed to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among young people in our community."
This summer we have a variety of businesses in the program, including a sports camp, car detailing company, ice cream vendor and lawn maintenance companies.
Congratulations to our 2024 Summer Company Student Entrepreneurs:
