With the summer coming to an end it's about that time again to say goodbye to the Tourism Ambassador Team

With the summer coming to an end it’s about that time again to say goodbye to the Tourism Ambassador Team. The TA’s spend their summer answering questions around Fenelon Falls, promoting local businesses on Social Media, picking up garbage to keep our community clean and so much more. To wrap up another amazing summer, we asked the Tourism Ambassadors to answer some questions about their summer in Fenelon Falls.

What were your favourite memories this summer while being a TA?

Lyla: I loved meeting new people from locals, to business owners, to visitors from around the world. Fenelon is full of some incredible individuals.

Lexi: Exploring all the different things offered in Fenelon, like the Kawartha Voyageur and sweet treats!

Jules: I’ve loved meeting some of the locals who have taught me some history of the town that I didn’t know as well as the new visitors.

If somebody only had time to do one thing in Fenelon Falls what would you suggest?

Lyla: I would suggest checking out Garnet Graham Beach Park where you can swim, visit the museum, play in the splash pad, look at the view on the train bridge, or start a gorgeous walk on the Victoria Rail Trail. There are so many amazing choices!

Lexi: Explore the Downtown to find a variety of food, clothing, home essentials and more!

Jules: I would suggest visiting the Fenelon Station Gallery to see all the gorgeous pieces for sale, as well as taking a walk down the Victoria Rail Trail for a stunning view.

What are some things you want people to know about Fenelon Falls?

Lyla: How hard the community works to have all of the town-wide opportunities and events. Such as Santa Day, Canada Day, Moonlight Madness, and so many more!

Lexi: If you’re a fan of sunsets like me the Train Bridge and Garnet Graham beach park have the best view!

Jules: From The Purple Boat to Bés 57, there are tons of cute shops and restaurants to explore and try out on Colborne Street!

Who was the most interesting person you met this summer?

Everybody had the same answer to this question and that person was Barbara Allen. We met Barbara on the Canada Day weekend when she stopped by to tell us about the time she worked for the Fenelon Falls Chamber of Commerce. Barabara was the first person to work as the Manager for the Chamber of Commerce many years ago. She told us about how this building came to be, although it was only about half the size then. The building she worked in was a shed built by the students of Fenelon Falls Secondary. It was amazing to learn about the history of the building that we worked in this summer!

Thank you to the 2024 Tourism Ambassadors for all your hard work this summer!
