Curbside Battery Collection Returns March 20 to 23
Curbside battery collection is back. We’ll be collecting your used batteries curbside from March 20 to 23 on your regularly scheduled collection day.
2023 Summer Company Program Applications Open until May 31
Kawartha Lakes is now accepting applications for the 2023 Summer Company program. This program offers an opportunity for students to start and manage their own businesses. Successful applicants will receive a grant of up to $3,000, as well as invaluable training and mentorship from local business leaders.

Minister’s Visit Brings News of More Affordable and Accessible Child Care Spaces in Kawartha Lakes
During a visit from Hon. Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education and MPP Laurie Scott, they announced funding to open 443 new child care spaces in Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton by the end of 2026. This will be a 40 percent increase in total spaces available, bringing the 2026 child-care access rate in Kawartha Lakes up to the new provincial minimum standard.

Strathcona Cup 2023
The Fenelon Falls Curling Club had the great honour of being part of the 120th “Scots Tour to Canada – Strathcona Cup” on Sunday, January 22nd. This year fifteen teams (60 Scots) arrived to play 350 games all across Canada. Eighty five curling facilities and 1400 Canadian Curlers will get to play against the Scots.
