Call for Donors and Volunteers: The Grove Theatre in Fenelon Falls

Submitted by Maddy Warlow on behalf of Kawartha Works Community Co-operative

In case you haven’t heard, our lovely community of Fenelon Falls is getting its very own 450-seat outdoor amphitheatre. We have been overwhelmed with the positive response from the community and beyond – everyone is so excited about this project that will bring the arts to life in Fenelon Falls! It is a source of inspiration and happiness during these difficult times. In order to make it happen, we need your help! “All of our Co-op projects rely on community support for success,” said Jim Armstrong, President of Kawartha Works Community Co-operative. Want to donate to the project or lend your support as a volunteer? Read on!

The Grove Theatre will be home to high-quality professional theatre staged in an idyllic natural setting. Friends and family will gather to enjoy open-air performances ranging from lively musical theatre to popular Shakespeare plays. The amphitheatre has been conceived to engage and inspire both visitors and local residents. The annual festival and the amphitheatre will bring new vitality not only to Fenelon Falls itself but to the whole region of Kawartha Lakes. The overarching goal is to create an attraction that brings multi-day visitors and engages the wider Kawartha Lakes community.

“I am excited about this project and what it means for our community for years to come. We have just launched the fundraising campaign and we are off to a great start having raised over 200,000 of the goal of 600,000.   We are looking for volunteers and donors to help us make this amazing asset a reality,” said Glen Wright, chair of fundraising for the project.
