A Taste of Spring!
Submission by Vicky Groves of the Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society
As the sun gets stronger, are you starting to think “Spring”? Is the idea of gardening beginning to enter your mind? Have you considered joining the Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society to get some new ideas or maybe to participate with other like-minded individuals to not only beautify Fenelon, but also to learn new approaches to gardening in your own yard, to educate in the community and/or to contribute to environmental restoration and preservation? We welcome new members and hope you will consider joining us!
Membership fees remain at $20.00 per person and we have 3 options for types of payment, including front porch delivery of your envelope in person, sending your cheque by Canada Post or making an e-transfer through online banking. If you have questions about membership, registration or payments, please send an email to FFHorticultural@hotmail.com and we will respond ASAP.
We will be returning to regular, once a month meetings as of Monday, March 22, 2021, via Zoom until we can meet in person again due to continuing Covid-19 restrictions. We have an interesting speaker lined up for that date and there will be more information from us about that in the next Town Crier.
Stay tuned for more and, in the meantime, please check out the FFHS website at backyardbuzz.ca.
******Gardening Tip of the Week!******
When you can see new growth and even the beginnings of blossoms on your indoor plants, begin to fertilize them again. Use the fertilizer at half strength, whether you are mixing a granular or a liquid type. At this point the plants are just beginning to rev up to grow actively and do not yet need a large amount of nutrition.
