Tourism Ambassador Positions Available Summer 2021

Do you want the opportunity to share what you love about Fenelon Falls with the community?  Do you want to learn more about the town? The Summer Tourism Ambassador positions with the Fenelon Falls Chamber of Commerce may be for you!

Thanks to funding from Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) and the Ontario Summer Experience Program (OSEP) there are 3 full-time positions available for 8 weeks in July and August of 2021. Responsibilities include welcoming visitors to the community, promoting local businesses and events, creating social media content, and more.

As a former Tourism Ambassador, I can personally say that it was a great experience where I was able to learn about the town, work with local businesses all while having a fun summer outdoors.

To be eligible for the 2 CSJ positions, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements: 

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment*;

  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,

  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

To be eligible for OSEP position, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements: 

  • All students must be currently enrolled in a secondary, or post-secondary institution or within six months of graduation and have reached the age of 15 and not yet reached the age of 25 upon commencement of employment or up to 29 years of age for persons with a disability, within the meaning of s.10 of the Ontario Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended from time to time

  • Students must be employed full time for a minimum employment contract length of 246.5 hours or 34 days at 7.25 hours per day

  • Proof of student enrolment must be provided to the employer

  • Students must be residents of Ontario during the period of employment

  • Students must be eligible to work in Canada and have a Social Insurance Number (SIN)

  • Students should be living in Ontario at the time they start work

The intention of the program is to provide career-related experience to eligible students that are also eligible to work in Ontario.
