Santa Day Recap
Look at all those happy Santa Day faces! These are just some of the over 100 visitors whom we welcomed at St. James Anglican Church. "WE! welcomed"...but we had a great deal of help from the Santa Day committee. There was a bright Santa Day sign with a big red arrow right at the corner of Bond St. where our church is located. The merry music from the DJ drifted up to our church. When families came in to be warmed up with hot chocolate and cookies the children were excited to show us their face paintings and shiny Rudolph noses. We heard funny stories about the camel who ate the food..along with the cup! On Sunday our minister, Rev. Alvardo even based his Sunday sermon on that camel, who just didn't belong.
Santa Day Committee, thank you for all the joy and inspiration you brought to our town on Saturday November 25.
Our visitors enjoyed the hot chocolate, the warmth, the washrooms, the stories about St. Nicholas and the crafts. They were also welcomed into the Church where they viewed an intricate Nativity Scene which contains 80 pieces and measures 36 square feet. The children were especially interested in the black baby Jesus. This baby Jesus is made from porcelain and was purchased in Assisi by our parishioner Peter Mancini. The children were delighted to count the cats in the scene..bring your children and count for yourself, we aren't telling how many. Of course the traditional elements are there as well, the Roman soldiers, the 3 wise men on their camels. We invite you to come during any of our regular services.
