St James Anglican Fashion Show SOLD OUT!
St. James Anglican Church’s Fashion show was held on Mothers Day, Saturday May 13, and was sold out two weeks before the show date. It had been advertised using a picture of a mature model. Obviously that was a big selling feature! Fifty-seven guests attended and six mature models of various sizes walked down the runway, showing off twenty four outfits. The outfits were from the Butterfly Boutique and featured natural fabrics and bright colours, such as coral. Each outfit was accessorized; a hat, a purse, fabulous outsize jewelry, also from the Butterly Boutique. A highlight of the show were two quilted jackets from the Wee' Lil Quilt Show, stunning works of art, one in deep purple, one in navy and cream which were shown to advantage over a neutral black outfit.
Every single guest went home happy because at each place there was a gift bag which contained a lovely scarf and a gift certificate. Our youngest guest, Ella, went home happy because she got to pick her very own cupcake. Eleven guests went home extra happy because they had won a gift basket lucky draw. The baskets included planter baskets, a dozen home made butter tarts, a wine punch set (including wine!), Soroptomist Vintage Wedding Fashion Show tickets, a huge Mothers Day Basket, a Reading Basket with home made chocolate chip cookies and an Oprah pick book.
A great day and a successful fundraiser for St. James Anglican church. Thank you to all the ladies who attended and to the Anglican Church Women who worked so hard to put on this event. Special thanks to Rhonda Watson, who was the commentator, to Natasha from the Butterfly Boutique and to Vivian, from the Wee Lil Quilt Shop.
